Frolic! Walk

Image of Frolic! Walk

Three years ago I landed in Lisbon on a whim. I didn't read a guidebook or look at any photos before arriving. I became acquainted with Lisbon by walking with locals. All over the city, day after day. They introduced me to secret gardens, sign-less cafes, and shared their culture through conversation, and of course lots of coffee.

I am now offering #frolicwalks lead in collaboration with knowledgeable, local Portuguese friends. Simple, exploratory walks wandering into secret corners of the city, introducing you to the lesser known but overwhelmingly authentic pockets of Portuguese culture, both traditional and modern.

Basically, Imagine being led around a new city with a friend who knows the city inside and out and has the best taste!

What guests have to say:

"Probably the best decision I’ve made all year was to sign up for a #frolicwalk on my birthday...while the hills were tough (thanks for the ‘admiring the tiles’ breaks, Claudio) it’s the best ‘tour’ I’ve ever done, anywhere. I had to put inverted commas around tour because I think tours are normally kinda cheesy. But Claudio took us through the back streets, into ceramics workshops, a gorgeous tile gallery, hole in the wall pastry shops and bifana takeaways, into parking garage (proper) galleries of street art, told us stories of the carnation revolution, the big earthquake/fire/tsunami, and importantly for my travel buddy...the exact location of the museum of beer. Chelsea and Claudio...the thought you put into the planning...and the flexibility on the day to go where our questions naturally led...made this the BEST tour ever. And the even better bit? I followed it with a #frolicflowerclass that afternoon. Sometimes I even astound myself with my brilliance. Thank you @frolicblog @froliclisbon...it’s safe to say we LOVED our #frolicwalk!!! "

"My day with Chelsea was like spending the day with an old friend. She can’t wait to show you her Lisbon. The Lisbon you can only know if you’ve lived there and know things like where the best night time view is or the best Fado or the best teeny tiny restaurant with explosively good food. You couldn’t find these places on your own. They’re not in a guidebook. They’re in her head and she will make them part of the Lisbon you remember. I feel lucky to have walked all day in the rain with her."
